Our Mission: The local HR association that exists to develop and serve the HR professional and contribute to the success of the organizations and communities in which they work and live. NOHRA provides opportunities for professional development, networking, and certification to enhance the effectiveness of HR professionals and advance the practice of Human Resources.

SHRM recently awarded NOHRA its prestigious EXCEL Platinum Award for its accomplishments in 2019. The EXCEL award is given to state councils and chapters to recognize major accomplishments, strategic activities, and tactical initiatives that elevate the profession of human resources. The EXCEL Award can be earned at four levels: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. Each level has a prescribed set of requirements and accomplishments that must be met. Congratulations to Past President Evelyn Buckenmeyer and the NOHRA Board. This award is a reflection of their hard work and dedication to NOHRA and the HR profession.

Inclusion Conference: Redefining Workplace Culture —  Tuesday, July 21, virtual

As previously shared with our HR community, NOHRA continues to monitor the evolving conditions related to the COVID-19 outbreak. As a new Ohio coronavirus order extends the mass-gatherings ban until July 1, we have made the decision to move the Inclusion conference completely online. While fully virtual, the Inclusion conference will offer the same vibrant programming, including expert speakers, live chat, inclusion panelists, virtual yoga, and a virtual scavenger hunt. We look forward to connecting over the important and relevant topics of the day.

In conjunction with this change, we have reduced the conference fee to $49. Those that have previously registered will automatically be credited with the difference. All registrants will receive an email with the details for joining the virtual conference via Zoom Meeting.

Complete conference details and registration information can be found on the NOHRA website.

HR PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR (postponed)

NOHRA and The Employer’s Association have decided to postpone the HR Professional of the Year Award due to continued uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. The electronic nomination form will reopen in the Fall, and the award will be presented during THRAC (November 12). We are hopeful that this change will keep everyone safe and allow the award recipient to receive the spotlight they deserve. Be on the lookout for further communications in September!
